Celebration Entertainment

The DJ Is the One Who Runs the Night

Celebration Entertainment started as a NYC DJ company, and it is still the heart of what we do. A good DJ does more than play songs. He knows when to bring the couple in, when to start the hora, when to slow it down for the parents and when to fill the floor, and he tells the room what is happening with the microphone so nobody misses a moment.

We work like a party planner and a DJ in one. Before the event we sit with you and plan the timeline, the entrance songs, the first dance and the special moments. On the night, the same DJ runs it all with our own Pioneer gear, JBL and RCF speakers and lighting. And if you want the full bundle, we add dancers, a saxophonist or percussionist, a photographer and a videographer, so one team covers everything.

  • Planned with you

A planning meeting before every wedding, mitzvah and Sweet 16: the timeline, the songs and every special moment.

  • DJ and MC in one

Entrances, toasts, candle lighting and the hora announced clearly, so the night flows.

  • Our own pro gear

Pioneer CDJ-3000 and DDJ-SZ, JBL and RCF speakers, wireless mics and lighting. Nothing rented from someone else.

  • The full bundle

Add dancers, live musicians, a photographer and a videographer, all from one company.

What Your DJ Does

We Plan the Night With You

Before the event we sit with you and build the timeline: when the guests come in, the entrance songs, the first dance, the toasts, the cake and the special moments. We have done it hundreds of times, so we bring the ideas and you make the choices.
  • Planning meeting or call
  • Timeline and run of show
  • Entrance and first dance songs
  • Coordinated with the venue and vendors

MC for Every Moment

The MC is the voice of the night. We announce the entrances, invite the toasts, call the families for the candle lighting, start the hora and keep the room on time with the venue, clearly and without taking over.
  • Grand entrance announcements
  • Toasts, blessings and speeches
  • Candle lighting and the hora
  • Keeps the night on schedule

Music for Every Crowd

A wedding in Brooklyn, a bat mitzvah in Queens and an office party in Midtown each need a different set. We play Top 40, hip hop, R&B, Latin, Israeli and Jewish music, disco, rock and the classics, and read the floor to keep it full.
  • Top 40, hip hop, Latin, oldies
  • Israeli and Jewish music, the hora
  • Must-play and do-not-play lists
  • Clean versions for kids and schools

Our Own Pro Sound and Lighting

We bring our own gear: Pioneer CDJ-3000 players and a DDJ-SZ controller, JBL and RCF speakers with subwoofers, wireless microphones, uplights and dance floor lighting. The same equipment we rent out, run by the people who own it.
  • Pioneer CDJ-3000 and DDJ-SZ
  • JBL and RCF speakers, subwoofers
  • Wireless microphones
  • Uplighting and dance floor lights

Add Dancers and Live Musicians

Turn the dance floor into a show. A saxophonist or a percussionist playing live over the DJ, belly dancers, LED and special dance shows, and dancers who pull the guests onto the floor. We book them with the DJ so the timing is perfect.
  • Saxophonist or percussionist with the DJ
  • Belly dancers and special shows
  • Dancers to fill the floor
  • Booked and timed with the DJ

DJ Price Guide

How Much Does a DJ Cost in NYC?

Most DJs in New York City price by the event, not by the hour. From what NYC DJ companies publish for 2026, a party DJ runs about $800 to $1,500, a bar or bat mitzvah DJ and MC for 5 hours runs $2,200 to $3,500, and a wedding DJ runs $2,000 to $4,000, with the best known names over $5,000. Overtime is usually $250 to $500 an hour.

What changes the price

  • Hours of music. Most packages cover 4 or 5 hours; every extra hour adds to the bill.
  • MC work. A DJ who only plays music costs less than a DJ who also runs the entrances, the toasts, the candle lighting and the games.
  • Sound and lighting. Club players, JBL and RCF speakers, subwoofers and uplighting cost more to own and bring than a laptop and two small speakers.
  • The date. Saturdays from May to October and December holiday parties book first and cost the most.
  • Travel and setup. Stairs, loading docks, parking and distance all add crew time.

6 questions to ask before you hire a DJ

  1. Will the DJ I meet be the DJ at my event?
  2. Is an MC included, and who announces the entrances and toasts?
  3. How many hours of music, and what does each extra hour cost?
  4. Whose equipment is it, and is there a backup?
  5. Will you meet with us to plan the timeline and the songs?
  6. Do you carry liability insurance for the venue?

Our answers: the DJ you plan with is the DJ who plays, the MC is in every package, the hours are written on each package, extra hours are $295, the gear is our own with backups on the truck, every wedding, mitzvah and Sweet 16 gets a planning meeting, and we send a certificate of insurance to your venue.

Travel and Setup

Where We Play and What Is Included

Every package includes the DJ, the MC, our sound and lighting, setup before the guests arrive and breakdown after. Travel is included in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens. The Bronx, Staten Island, Long Island, Westchester, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania add a travel fee by distance, quoted up front. We need a standard outlet near the DJ table and about 8 by 4 feet of space.
